Of mice and Men and Night

Why you liked or disliked it?

I liked them both because I felt like they were easy to read from the very beginning. Personally I liked night more because it was a real life story and eventhough I am not so good at history there are some topics that I find really interesting and that I love to know as much as possible and WWII is one of them so reading the testimony of Elizer was interesting and touching for me.

I also liked of mice and men but I couldn't help feeling bad for Lenny because of the way George talked to him since the start and itwas even worse when he dies so it wasn't my all time. Favorite because I felt so bad all the time I was reading the book.

Between both of them I prefer by far Night but both books are good and I recomend reading them.

Formal E-mail

Subject: Gym's service

To whom it may concern:

Morning, my name is Diana and I am a student of fifth semester and a current user of the gym's equipment and I have to say that I'm not entirely satisfied with this service and here are the reasons why.

First of all there are a lot of machines that are out of service since the beggining of the semester and they haven't been remplaced and because of that I can't finish my routine because I constantly have to wait until the one I need to use is unoccupied and I lose a lot of time waiting.

Second of all there are students, specially from first semester, that just go to the gym to waste time pretending to be doing exercise but they're just talking and they don't even know how to use the machines.

I suggest that the person in charge of the gym pays attention to who does that and if he or she observes that they are not working at all ask them to leave the gym so that people who does want to work out can use the machines and for people who doesn't know how to use the machines, it would be a good idea to have a special section for them at the gym with instructors to teach them how to use them.

I hope it is not so much to ask and that you consider my suggestions.

Regards,
Diana Vargas

Anecdote

The last year of secondary school was a rad and I did a lot of crazy things, but the one I chose is one of my favorites anecdotes.
The last week of classes me and my friends were planning to make different jokes to the younger students and also to teachers.
There was a teacher (Lulú) who everybody hated because she was a bitter and her face was always like *n* literaly and she was so mean and did not had sense of humor and we decided to buy some mice and let them out during her class and so we did while she was out of the classroom and everybody (specially the girls) started screaming and the teacher came into the classroom and saw the mice thay by the way were hiding under a friends chair (Aaron) instead of running all over the room like we wanted and when the teacher saw them she called the coordinator and when she arrived the mice were still under my friends chair and the coordinator didn't believed they were from a strainer or something like that because they were clean but she found it funny anyway and took them to her office and she told my friend "you can go pick them when you finish your classes" and he was like "but they're not mine" but she didn't believed him because he was the kind of boy who was always in trouble and no one suspected it was me because I was one of the best students of my generation.
So we failed with the mice prank but we still had another one planned.
We wanted to cover the hall with butter so that when the classes ended and everybody went of of the classrooms running because we were finally on vacations, they would all fall but we had a problem, there were security cameras all over the place so because I was friend of the prefect and the sports teacher I went to talk to them to ask them to turn off the cameras so that we could put the butter without being caught and eventhough they thought  the prank was good they said no because they didn't wanted to get in trouble but I already had the butter and I wasn't gonna leave it like that so during the recess I was going to the cafeteria with a friend when pass the boy restrooms so I had and idea.
I asked my friend to put the butter on the restroom's floor because there was a camera that was recording the entrance of the bathrooms so he pretended to go inside and do his thing and I was waiting for him outside but in les than 15 seconds he came out and said "it's done" and I was like "I know I told you to do it fast but that was extremely fast" so I peered inside and I see the butter pn the floor but it was pretty obvious, de did not even scattered the butter, really he did not put a sing of "CAUTION BUTTER ON THE FLOOR" because he didn't had a pen.  So I said "I'm sure those cameras are not even real" so I went inside the restroom and scattered the butter with my hand until it wasn't visible but I had to do it so fast because my friend started saying "hurry up! Lulú is coming" and because my friend is really tall and big he covered me as I went out of the boy's restroom and we acted normal like anything had happened so we continued our way to the cafeteria but suddenly we saw our math teacher going to the restroom and I started to panic because first of all he was one of my favorite teachers and he was the last person I wanted to get hurted and second of all because he was so skiny and tall like a stake amd of he fell he would probably break his arm or something so in the middle of my panic I went running to the cafeteria along with my friend and there we found another friend (Rubén) and we told him what was going on and he noticed I was so nervous so he offered to go to the restroom and see if the math teacher was okay but then he came back running and laughing so I panic even more because he said "he got hurted" and I was like "Nononono, I'm gonna die" but then he started laughing even more and said "just kidding, he's okay" so I punched him and told him I would never believe anything he said ever again.

Later that day the school organized a kind of event with different activities to celebrate that the school year was over and Aaron and I were talking about Lulú's class and how Isaura(the coordinator) thought the mice were his and Rubén came to us running saying Fernando, another friend, had slipped in the bathroom and I was like "yeah sure, just like the math teacher" and he said "No, he really did! Come" so we followed him and we saw Fernando sitting in a chair with his leg on another chair and Isaura, other teachers were talking to him so we waited until they were gone and I ran to kneel in front of Fernando and told him "Please forgive me, I'm so sorry" and he was like "What are you talking about?" and I said "I scattered the butter on the floor" and he kind of got mad but then he said "Don't worry, I already fell anyway" and then the teachers came back and send him to the nursing and before they told him he had sprained his ankle.

I thought that was all but then the day of the awards ceremony after I had received an excellence, I was with my dad waiting to sing some documents when the principal called me and she said "We almost didn't give you the excellence, you know?" And I said why and she said "You don't know why?" And I said "No" because I was sure she didn't knew about the butter because she was never in the school but then she said "Butter, bathroom, does it sound familiar to you?" And in my mind I was thinking "Those damn cameras are real" but I only said "Oh yeah but I already talked to Fernando and I apologized to him and it's ok" and she said "Yes but what you did wasn't right.  I considered it wouldn't be fair if we didn't give you the excellence  just for one prank you decided to make" and in my head I was like "So I should be thanking you because you decided to come ONE day to school and give me the excellence?" But I didn't wanted to had that conversation so I just nodded until she said "Just don't do it again" so I nodded again and she said "you can go" and I went back with my dad and he asked me "What did she said" and I said "Oh, she just wanted to congratulate me for the excellence" and that's it. Complete Essay

Introduction: We've all heard about different sports. The most common are basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and maybe you've tried them at least once right? But think a little bit more, don't you think you're missing one? That's right! I'm talking about voleibol, you know the sport that's usually the easiest one and mostly played by girls.
Well if you think that let me tell you you're wrong because it's a complete physical sport that not everyone can do.

II.   Body paragraphs:
           A. My Experience: I've been playing voleibol for one year and a half now and before I started I had a lot of beliefs, just like you do.

The first one was "it's a girls sport", that's why I decided to try it on the first place but as soon as I enter the class I realized that I was wrong. There were like eight boys and three girls including me, wich can be good if you're a girl because boys give you tips to improve, tricks to play, they're really good  at this sport and they're not that bad if you know what I mean. But, if you're a boy and you're expecting to find a lot of girls or be like blessed among woman, I'm sorry but that won't happen at least here at school, but the good thing is that you'll find amazing friends to share your craziness for this sport.

The second one was "it's not that difficult" and after the first class I went back home with an injured wrist and thinking I had a lot to learn. It is just as hard as any sport can be, you just need to be constant, that's why masters of this sport make it look so easy, because they tried it over and over again until they got it and if you wanna be like them you can start by following the next rules and tips.

          B. General Rules and Tips: The first rule and most impportant one: Don't let the ball fall. Keep that in mind and if you accomplish it you're halfway there.

The next thing you need to know is that you're team can touch the ball up twice before passing it to the other side, but you can't touch the ball two times in a row, it has to be touched by someone else before you touch it again.

By now you should be wondering "How do I touch the ball?". Well there are three general ways to touch the ball. The first one is called reception or service. In this one you have to put your hands together interlacing your fingers paying attention not to top your thumbs and you'll receive the ball with the flat surface of your arms.

The second touch is called volleying and for this you have to throw up the ball with your fingertips and this will help you place the ball for the next touch that's called spike or attack. Here you'll try nail the ball on the other team's court to make a point.

III.   Conclusion:  After reading this, you probably discover that you had a wrong idea about this sport or that it is way more interesting than you thought so don't be afraid and give it a try, it can be difficult in the beggining but later on, it will be just fun. Remember: "There is no glory in the practice, but without practice, there is no glory."
